Perched on a cliffside 900 meters above the Paro valley, Taktsang — the Tiger's Nest — is Bhutan's most iconic monastery and a UNESCO-listed pilgrimage site. Legend holds that Guru Rinpoche flew here on the back of a tigress to subdue a local demon in the 8th century.

Built in 1692 around the Taktsang Senge Samdup cave where Guru Padmasambhava is said to have meditated, the monastery has survived multiple fires and been rebuilt while preserving its original character.

Breathtaking and unforgettable
